ROAD ACCIDENT CLAIMS A LIFE OF A COUNCILOR IN CHITIPA

One of Chitipa district council councillors Piason Kapira who was also the chairperson for the Agriculture Committee at the council has died today following a road accident at Jembya ascent along Chitipa-Nthalire road in the early hours of today

According to the press release signed by Chitipa District Council public relations officer Bishop Witmos, Kapira was among the 15 passengers traveling from Wenya to Chitipa Boma however when they reached Jembya ascent the motor vehicle they were traveling in, started rolling backwards which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and in the process the vehicle fell into a deep ditch.

Mr Kapira with four others were pronounced dead upon arrival at Wenya health center.
